Telos is a distant world, originally colonised to fulfil the "final goal" of providing human worlds elsewhere with unlimited natural resources. Thanks to it's vast subsurface mineral deposits and shallow ocean Telos provides slow but effectively endless production of hydrocarbons sub oceanic metal extraction.

The UEC contracted Draziw Industries Corporation to establish minerals production on the surface through tapping the sub-surface magma channels to create a series of artificial island chains as locations to site factories and extraction facilities.
