All distances in the game are metric (meters, kilometers). Speeds in aircraft, ship and ground unit HUDs are meters-per-second (m/s). Speed shown on the carrier bridge helm screen is Knots (We don't really know why) One knot is about 2 m/s. So 100kts is about 51m/s

Distances and directions are usually spoken as BEARING for RANGE, eg:

  • 312 for six
    • a distance of 6km on bearing 312 degrees

Bearings are usually spoken with all three digits, eg:

  • zero one five
    • 015
  • three zero one
    • 301
