+The needlefish is a common sight on the seas of Telos. Initially developed as a hydrographic monitoring craft it has evolved into a fast patrol craft able to fit standard naval weaponry.
+Humans are able to purchase Needlefish in four variants from warehouse islands:
+  * [[CIWS]]
+    * Short range 20mm anti-aircraft and anti-missile gun
+  * [[Naval Gun]]
+    * 160mm naval artillery gun as used fitted to the [[Carrier]]
+  * [[Cruise Missile]]
+    * Long range land attack((Human crews are able to also order a cruise missile needlefish to attack aircraft, cruise missiles launched in this way are able to kill un-commanded Razorbills, Petrels and Albatrosses and are immune to flares, mantas are too fast to be intercepted)) missile as fitted to the [[Carrier]]
+  * Torpedo
+    * Short range standard anti-ship [[Torpedo]] with fixed 60 second arming delay timer.
+    * Player controlled Needlefish are not armed with noisemakers
+Island and AI Carriers have additional Needlefish variants, often with two weapons per ship instead of the player single weapon. AI controlled Needlefish do not have cruise missiles but do have other differences:
+  * Torpedo
+    * In addition to anti-ship [[Torpedos]], AI needlefish can also fire [[Noisemaker Torpedoes]]
+  * AA
+    * AI Needlefish can launch AA missiles against aircraft within 5km.
